Our “Revision to an Existing Degree” form was drafted by Rhetoric and Writing faculty with input from many colleagues across the university and has served as a foundational document to our program. A first draft was submitted in December 2010 to the English Department’s Undergraduate Studies Committee. It was then revised and resubmitted in January 2011. It was revised again (the version included here) and eventually voted on and approved by the whole department and sent to the College of Arts and Science where it was approved. Then it went to the Council of Academic Deans and on to University Senate. As a revision to an existing major it did not have to go to the state Board of Regents. The course list has been expanded and revised since this proposal and is available online through the university website.
