One of our most important primary documents is our annual report. Included below is a sample annual report, written by the coordinator of our minor each spring, and then submitted to the chair of the Department of English. In it, the coordinator outlines issues, challenges, and accomplishments; recognizes contributions made by colleagues; and charts a course for the subsequent academic year. Topics often include program-sponsored activities, curricular initiatives, enrollment, awards, recruiting, and assessment. Coordinators also use these reports to apprise the chair of program needs and other program initiatives. In short, the document provides a “big picture” that the chair can use in reports and conversations with colleagues, alumni, and administrators.
